An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Medical Negligence Solicitor to join a highly regarded and supportive team specialising in serious and life-changing injury claims based in Leeds.


This role will involve handling a varied caseload of complex, high-value matters, including:


  • Birth injury claims (including cerebral palsy and other neonatal brain injuries)
  • Brain injury claims (adult and child)
  • Spinal cord injury claims
  • Cancer misdiagnosis and delayed diagnosis claims
  • Fatal claims and inquests


The team is recognised in leading legal directories for its compassionate, client-focused approach and dedication to improving patient safety. The successful candidate will work closely with senior solicitors on high-value, multi-track cases while also managing their own files from initial instruction through to settlement.


Key Responsibilities

  • Running a personal caseload of serious and complex medical negligence claims.
  • Assisting senior lawyers on high-value, catastrophic injury cases.
  • Conducting client meetings and providing clear, empathetic legal advice.
  • Preparing and drafting legal documents, witness statements, and correspondence.
  • Using commercial and analytical skills to identify key case issues and develop effective strategies.
  • Securing interim payments to facilitate rehabilitation, care packages, and suitable accommodation before final settlement.
  • Liaising with medical experts, counsel, and other professionals.
  • Working collaboratively within the team to share knowledge and expertise.


About You

  • Qualified Solicitor with 1+ year PQE in medical negligence (applications from those with equivalent experience will be considered).
  • Proven track record in high-value, multi-track medical negligence cases.
  • Experience with birth injury, brain injury, spinal injury, cancer misdiagnosis, or fatal claims desirable.
  • Strong technical knowledge of medical negligence law and litigation processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to exceptional client care.
  • Ability to manage own caseload independently while contributing to a team environment.
