This is a fixed-term 24-month role (supporting the CESR/portfolio pathway) working alongside a dedicated, highly skilled microbiology team. There is a future post for a substantive consultant.

Your Eesponsibilities

• Deliver a high-quality microbiology and virology service
• Provide expert infection control and antimicrobial stewardship advice
• Participate in MDTs, ward rounds, and clinical liaison services
• Support laboratory operations, SOPs, quality assurance, and UKAS accreditation
• Contribute to teaching, audit, and research initiatives

Person specification – essentials

• MBChB/MBBS (or equivalent) and GMC registration with a license to practise
• Significant experience in clinical microbiology (UK or equivalent)
• Strong communication and team-working skills
• Commitment to ongoing CPD and portfolio pathway progression
• MRCPath
