Senior / Principal Electrical Design Engineer - Critical Infrastructure

I'm working with a globally recognised engineering consultancy looking to appoint a Senior or Principal Electrical Design Engineer into their growing Building Design team in Bristol.

This business operates at the cutting edge of major infrastructure, defence, and energy projects, with a strong reputation for delivering technically complex schemes across the UK and internationally. Their work spans sectors including energy, defence, aviation, healthcare, and commercial, with a growing focus on decarbonisation and sustainable design.

The Role
You'll play a key role in the delivery of electrical design across a range of high-profile and technically challenging projects, particularly within critical infrastructure environments.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading the design and specification of LV & MV electrical systems
Delivering solutions involving renewable technologies (PV, BESS, and grid connections)
Producing and reviewing detailed electrical calculations using tools such as ETAP and Amtech/ProDesign
Preparing technical specifications and reports
Collaborating with BIM teams using Revit to produce coordinated designs
Undertaking site surveys, inspections, and project monitoring
Supporting and mentoring junior engineers
Taking ownership of project deliverables, ensuring quality, budget, and programme targets are metAbout You

Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
Ideally Chartered (CIBSE or IET), or working towards
Strong experience within a design consultancy or contractor design environment
Proven background in building services and critical infrastructure projects
Experience with PV systems and battery energy storage (BESS)
Strong technical knowledge of relevant standards and regulations
Comfortable leading projects, engaging with clients, and working autonomouslyWhat's on Offer
