Our client is a well-established systematic hedge fund specialising in quantitative trading strategies across a broad range of global asset classes. The firm develops fully automated models designed to identify and exploit inefficiencies in financial markets. Their strategies operate across a variety of time horizons, from ultra-short-term signals measured in milliseconds through to longer holding periods. With a strong track record in quantitative research and trading, the firm combines deep market expertise with advanced technology to support its investment process. Operating from several international offices, the firm promotes a collaborative environment where research, technology, and trading teams work closely together. Due to continued growth and strong performance, the firm is expanding its research team.


Role Overview


The firm is seeking a Quantitative Researcher to contribute to the research, development, and implementation of systematic trading strategies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Researching and developing quantitative trading strategies within the firm’s automated trading platform
  • Analysing large and complex datasets using statistical and quantitative techniques to uncover trading opportunities
  • Building a strong understanding of market microstructure across different exchanges and asset classes


Typical Responsibilities


  • Conduct research on new trading signals and model improvements
  • Ensure all market data and supporting processes are ready ahead of the trading day
  • Monitor the performance and behaviour of trading strategies during market hours
  • Work with researchers and engineers to implement and refine trading models


Requirements


  • Strong quantitative background with a degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Financial Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, or Physics
  • Programming experience in at least one major language such as Python, C++, or Java
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across global teams
