We are seeking a Lecturer (Teaching) - Clinical to play a key role in this important work; supporting the redesign of our current curriculum and shaping the strategy for its implementation from 2026 onward.

About the role

The Lecturer (Teaching) will play a key part in the ongoing redevelopment of the MBBS curriculum, applying clinical knowledge and experience in medical education to help shape a forward-looking and academically rigorous programme.

Reporting to the MBBS Senior Leadership Team and working collaboratively with academic and administrative colleagues, the role includes contributing to curriculum review and design, engaging with relevant stakeholders, reviewing current evidence on effective medical education, and helping to refine the structure and timing of assessments across the programme.

The post involves participation in teaching activities, the development of digital learning materials, and involvement in departmental initiatives such as research, education consultancy, community outreach, and postgraduate education.

The role includes opportunities for continued professional development through participation in relevant training and educational activities in medical education.

About you

You are a medically qualified educator with experience in curriculum development, teaching, and assessment across clinical and academic settings. You hold a postgraduate qualification in education or equivalent experience and have a strong understanding of pedagogy in medical education. You communicate effectively, work well both independently and in teams, and are confident using digital tools to support learning. You are committed to inclusive education, continuous professional development, and contributing to a collaborative academic environment. Experience in a medical school setting, educational leadership, and a research interest in medical education are welcomed.
